Hanna Sinyook (Klymenko) — poet, translator, literary critic, critic

Biography and education

Anna Sinyook was born in the village of Svidivka, Cherkasy district, Cherkasy region. She received her secondary education at the First City Gymnasium of Cherkasy. In 2002, she graduated from Cherkassky State University named after Bohdan Khmelnytskyi**, majoring in "Ukrainian language and literature".

Scientific activity

In 2009, Anna defended her candidate's thesis on the topic: "Leonid Pervomaisky and Arseniy Tarkovsky: the compatibility of creative personalities and artistic heritage". She is a candidate of philological sciences, associate professor of the department of Ukrainian literature and comparative studies of the Cherkasy National University named after Bohdan Khmelnytskyi, as well as deputy director of the educational and scientific institute of Ukrainian philology and social communications for educational work.

Literary activity

Hanna Sinyook is the author of more than 140 publications and the monograph "Leonid Pervomaiskyi – Arseniy Tarkovsky: dialogue of fate and creativity" (2008).

Her poetry collections include:

  • "Child of July Dusk" (2014),
  • "Mystery-leleche" (2014),
  • "Feel the touch of a thunderstorm" (2015),
  • "Apple Sun" (2017),
  • "O-r-i-g-a-m-i" (2019).

In addition, she is the author of the book of poetic translations of Anna Akhmatova "Closed hands under the dark mist..." (2017) and has a number of translations of poems by Marina Tsvetaeva, Olexander Vertynskyi and others.

Literary studio and web platforms

Since 2014, Anna heads the literary studio "Poetic Living Room of Anna Klymenko-Synook" operating at the Cherkasy National University.

She has a web page "Poetry living room of Hanna Sinyok" on Facebook, where she posts her works and translations, as well as videos with author's readings. A channel on YouTube allows her fans to familiarize themselves with her work.

Membership and recognition

Since 2019, Anna has been a member of the National Writers' Union of Ukraine (NSPU).

Prospects

Currently, Hanna Sinyook is preparing for release a new poetry collection "Messages of coffee and stone" and a cycle of poems for children "Autumn travels of the Leaf".

Her work is multifaceted, covering poetry, literary studies, translations, as well as active cultural activities within the university and beyond.
