Biography

Kateryna Yehorushkina is a Ukrainian writer, poet, teacher, volunteer, and cultural figure who is actively engaged in both literary creativity and social initiatives. She is the author of a number of scientific articles, children's books, as well as an active participant in cultural and educational projects in Ukraine and abroad.

Education and academic path

Kateryna obtained a master's degree in the field of history, literary theory and comparative studies, and also successfully defended a candidate thesis at the Department of Psychology and Conflict Studies of the National University "Kyiv-Mohyla Academy".

Literary activity

Her first poetry collection "Pulsation of the Moment" was published in 2006 with the support of a grant from the President of Ukraine, after which she began actively writing for children and adults. Since then, the author has written more than twenty books that have been sold in ten countries. Among her most famous works are "My forced vacation", "The chest", "Stories of the brave men from Horishkovy Plavny". Her works have won numerous awards, including the Peter Pan Award (Sweden, 2024), a win in the "BaraBook TOP" rating (2023) and several nominations for the BBC Book of the Year Award.

Volunteer activity

Kateryna is actively engaged in volunteer activities, including the organization of the "Parcels of Kindness" project, which supports the children of fallen defenders. For her volunteer activity, she was included in the "Green Book of Ukrainian Charity".
