Biography
The writer, translator, editor, public figure is a multifaceted creative figure of modern Ukrainian culture.
Education and early childhood activities
She was born on February 23, 1982 in the town of Mlyniv in the Rivne region. Studied at the Mlyniv humanitarian gymnasium and art school. She received her education in two specialties:
- biology (Rivna State Humanities University, 2003),
- English Philology (Institute of Postgraduate Education at Ivan Franko National University).
Even in her student years, she was a member of the "Poetarch" summer association, engaged in translations and teaching.
Publishing and cultural activities
Lives in Lviv since 2002. She worked as a copywriter, a private teacher, and a translator of scientific texts. In 2008–2012 she was an editor at the Astrolabia" publishing house, participated in the "Silver Book" and "Add reading!" projects.
Since 2013, she held the position of deputy editor-in-chief at "Stary Lev Publishing House", participated in numerous literary events and book fairs: Bologna, Frankfurt, Book Arsenal, Publishers' Forum, etc.
In 2020, she switched to freelance, combining creativity with active social activities.
Public activity and volunteering
In 2018, after the birth of a son with special medical needs, she joined Horizontali. Medicine, where she wrote columns and edited important publications for patients' families. In particular, she worked on the brochure "With a child in intensive care" and on Anastasia Leukhina's book "Not a scary book at all".
With the start of full-scale war in 2022, she took part in cultural diplomacy projects, speaking in European cities. She joined the PEN initiative "Dialogues about war", made trips to Lithuania, Germany, the Czech Republic, Croatia and other countries.
She also supports the "Chance for Life" animal shelter (Nikopol), and since October 2022 she is a regular participant in PEN volunteer literary trips to the frontline and de-occupied territories.
Projects and initiatives
- New York Literary Festival (curator of the children's program, member of the NGO).
- "Suitcase with books" (Goethe Institute) — support for children in evacuation.
- "Augmented Reality Tales of War and Peace" is a participant in the international AR project.
- NYCamp is a lecturer at the youth camp founded by Victoria Amelina.
- Photo exhibitions Yurka Kostyshina (known as Kit Khakratnik) is a curator in Lviv and Vilnius.
- "Reading House" is an initiative of the Book Forum and USAID for the children of Kharkiv region.
- The jury of the essay contest "Deoccupation of the future" — support of high school students from Bakhmut Oblast.
