Biography

Kateryna Zarembo was born on October 2, 1987 in Kiev. She received a master's degree from Kyiv National University named after Taras Shevchenko majoring in English and Italian language and literature, as well as a diploma from University College Dublin (Ireland) majoring in European studies. In 2016, she defended her PhD thesis on Common Security and Defense Policy missions of the European Union in Ukraine and Moldova.

Professional path

From 2010 to 2019, she worked at the New Europe Center (until 2016, the Institute of World Politics), where she was engaged in research on European integration and Ukraine's security challenges, as well as international advocacy.

Translation activity

Kateryna Zarembo also worked as a translator. In 2018, she translated the book Candice Millard "Hero of the Empire" about Winston Churchill, and in 2020 - the book Tony Judt "After the war. A history of Europe since 1945", which was shortlisted for the UNESCO City of Literature Prize 2020.

Teaching activities

From 2020 to 2023, she worked as a teacher at the Department of International Relations National University "Kyiv-Mohyla Academy". She was also a visiting researcher at the Technical University of Darmstadt (Germany) in 2022-2023 and at the Central European University (Vienna, Austria) in 2023-2024.

Book

In 2023, her book "The Rising of the Ukrainian Sun" was published, which is dedicated to the civil society of the Ukrainian East.

Research interests

Her research interests include international relations, security policy and civil society.
