Biography

This Ukrainian writer, cultural researcher and journalist was born on March 2, 1954 in the village of Hrebinka in the Kyiv region, and has lived in Kyiv since 1971. She is a graduate of the Faculty of Philology of Kyiv State University named after T. Shevchenko (specialty — Ukrainian language and literature), where she received in-depth philological training.

Education and professional growth

She deepened her linguistic knowledge by studying the Czech language at the Summer School of Slavic Studies at the Masaryk University in Brno (Czech Republic) in 1994 and 1998. This experience testifies to her interest in Slavic languages ​​and the cultural interaction of Central and Eastern Europe.

Professional activity

In her career, she combined teaching, scientific, journalistic and editorial work:

  • taught;
  • was a leading scientist of the Kyiv Literary and Memorial Museum of Maxim Rylsky;
  • headed the press center of National University "Kyiv-Mohyla Academy";
  • worked as a columnist in the newspaper "Vechirniy Kyiv"**;
  • held the positions of editor of the department and editor-in-chief of Ukrainian culture magazine;
  • conducted cultural studies at the Ukrainian Center for Cultural Studies of the Ministry of Culture of Ukraine.

Her editorial and research work significantly influenced the formation of modern cultural journalism and coverage of Ukrainian heritage.

Public activity

She is an active participant in the literary and intellectual life of the country. Belongs to:

  • National Union of Writers of Ukraine;
  • Association of Ukrainian Writers (AUP);

  • Kyiv Institute of Gender Studies.
