Biography
Oksana Lushchevska is a Ukrainian children's writer and translator, laureate of numerous literary awards. She was born February 17, 1982 in Talne, Cherkasy region.
Education and scientific activity
Oksana Lushchevska graduated from the philological faculty of the Uman State Pedagogical University named after P. G. Tychyny. In 2010-2012, she studied for a master's degree at Pennsylvania State University (USA), where she studied Russian literature and comparative studies, as well as children's literature and children's studies.
In 2016, she obtained a PhD degree in the field of education at the University of Georgia (USA).
Literary activity
Oksana Lushchevska is the initiator of the project "Step forward: globalizing together with Ukrainian-English picture books", which focuses on the publishing of picture books in the Bratske" publishing house. She is co-founder of the blog about modern children's literature "Storyteller" and "Critic's rating: the best books for children and teenagers of the year".
Her work includes children's prose, poetry and translations. She is a winner and laureate of several prestigious literary contests, such as:
- "The Golden Stork" (2008)
- "Torch" (2009)
- "Granoslov" (2007)
Publications and recognition
Oksana Lushchevska was published in periodicals and anthologies, including:
