Ukrainian poet, translator, volunteer, combat medic and scout — biography and path of the heroine of modern Ukraine
Origin and education
She was born on May 18, 1995 in Kiev, a representative of the young generation of Ukrainian intellectuals who have passed the school of the Revolution of Dignity and War. She received her education at the National University "Kyiv-Mohyla Academy", where in 2019 she completed her studies at the Faculty of Humanities with the degree of Master of Philosophy.
Civic activity
In 2013–2014, she was an active participant of Euromaidan — a student movement that grew into the Revolution of Dignity. Already in 2015, she began to coordinate linguistic and cultural initiatives:
- "Switch to Ukrainian" is a public campaign aimed at stimulating the language transition;
- "Language Marathon" is a national movement that called on citizens to switch to Ukrainian within 66 days.
Literary and translation activities
Since 2017, writes and translates poetry. She took part in poetry contests and readings, in particular in the Torch publishing house award.
In 2018-2019 translated from English to Ukrainian books:
- Matt Haig is a modern British writer;
- Erin Gunter is the author of a collection of books for teenagers ("Warrior Cats").
These projects were implemented with the participation of publishing houses "George" and "Assa".
Volunteering and military service
After completing a basic course on providing first medical aid in 2019, she joined the ranks of the medical battalion "Hospitaliers", with which she went on rotations to the front.
In 2020:
- Became the initiator of the "Spring_on_granite" protest, which lasted three months as a lone stand** under administrative institutions in Kyiv.
- Spoke against the legitimization of the occupation, against the Minsk agreements and for commemoration of the fallen in the war with Russia.
In May 2020, signed a contract with the Armed Forces of Ukraine. She served in the 503 Separate Battalion of Marines, and since October 2020 — in the 140 Separate Reconnaissance Battalion of Marines. This unit includes:
- performs the functions of a platoon combat medic;
- acts as a reconnaissance;
- is on the front line continuously since August 2021;
- has the military rank of senior sailor.
Recognition
In May 2022, she was awarded the state medal "For Saved Life", which certifies her direct participation in saving fighters on the front line.
Summary
She is the embodiment of the new Ukraine, in which word and deed, poetry and struggle, philosophy and medical service, translation and patriotism are combined. Her life and professional path is evidence of deep inner integrity, civic courage and a culture of resistance.
